Collection: Pretty Proud

The heart of this collection are the colorful powder glass beads which are also called Krobo beads. Their origin is mainly from West Africa, more precisely from Ghana. These beads are made from glass waste which gets granulated and then baked and mixed with a color powder. As last step they will be hand painted and heated again. The glass powder beads play an important role in the Krobo tradition and are used in important rituals such as birth or weddings.
